National Archives

The National Archives was interesting because the documents were very old. I noticed that one of the pages of the Bill of Rights was faded so that you could almost not read it. They used UV lights to protect the documents and we were not allowed to take flash photography because it would damage them over time. At night the largest brass doors in the world are closed and locked. Then the documents are lowered into a vault that is 30 feet down in the ground. It was stimulating to be so close to such important documents. –John
