Technology is AWESOME!
That is my classroom motto. I just love computers, video, robots - you name
it and I love giving it a try. I am glad you found your way to my web page.
I have been teaching at Saint Michael for 12 years. I have taught computer
classes at almost every grade level during those 12 years and also
established our Saint Michael News Today production broadcast. I really love
the various forms of technology.
During our time in
the computer lab, students have many learning opportunities. Starting in
kindergarten, they begin to learn the basics of word processing as well as a
drawing application. By second grade they are building basic multimedia
presentations. At the fifth grade level student add spreadsheets, databases
and charts to their technology skills. Then, in eighth grade the classes take
apart a computer and learn the ins' and outs' of how a computer works.
They also build a basic robot and program the functions into the computer.
With so many
exciting things to learn about technology - how could I not love my role
here at Saint Michael. I hope that you too will join me in the fun and take
off with technology!
