Welcome to my web page. Kindergartners and their parents are my
FAVORITE people! What a privilege to be
entrusted with God’s most precious gifts-His
children! My goal is to work together with you
to help your children be all God has planned for
them to be.
Of course my husband, Kevin, and our two children, Shea and Kylie
are among my favorite people too! We are church
members at St. Michael. My husband grew up in
Fort Myers and attended Edison Park Elementary.
He is a graduate of Fort Myers High School. I
am a fifth generation Floridian and grew up in
Bradenton. I received my degree in education
from the University of South Florida. Both
children began their school career right here at
St. Michael in PreK-3 and are in the IB Program
at Fort Myers High School. GO GREENIES!
Our school day begins at 8:00 am and ends at 3:00 pm. Each day is
filled with learning how to be good friends and
good students. When we are in the classroom we
are busy learning about Jesus through Bible
stories. Worshiping God with music and motions
is one of our favorite things to do! We learn
the multiple sounds that single and multiple
letter phonograms make and we blend them
together to read words. Memorizing often used
sight words helps us not to have to sound out
every word when we begin reading books in
January. A variety of hands on math lessons
and a daily calendar time helps the children to
develop a solid concept of numbers 0-100. After
we eat lunch in the cafeteria, we spend our
afternoons playing, working in small groups, and
doing special projects. In between our
classroom learning we have recess on the
playground once a day, go to music twice a week,
physical education three times a week, computer
lab and library once a week, and beginning the
second semester we have art and Spanish
instruction once a week.
It is very exciting to see such young children
enjoy and accomplish so much in nine months!
