Visit My Classroom

Welcome to my webpage. This will be my 16th year at Saint Michael Lutheran School.

I taught 2nd grade for the first seven years. After I had my second child, Garrett, I worked part-time for three years, teaching computer, production and helping out with Resource.  Five years ago, I returned to full time status. I am currently a 6th grade homeroom teacher, specializing in math (6th and 7th grade) and television production (6th, 7th, 8th). I also have the privilege of supervising the library this year.  I enjoy every class that I teach and feel blessed that I am able to teach several grade levels.

I received my AA from University of Florida. I then moved up to Plymouth, New Hampshire with my husband and finished my third year at Plymouth State University. A year later we moved back to our hometown (Fort Myers). I finished my Bachelor Degree at the University of South Florida. In 2003, I attained my Masters Degree from University of South Florida, specializing in Library and Informational Science.

In Course 2 math, we will focus on several concepts including: integers, algebra, inequalities, exponents, geometry, measurement, and graphing in a coordinate plane. We review the following concepts: decimals, equations, factors, fractions, ratios, rates, proportions, percents, and probability.

My production class focuses on utilizing all of the technological equipment needed to produce a daily morning news show. We also learn the vocabulary, teamwork, and tasks that are necessary to run a successful video production show.

With our media center, I am able to work on increasing our book collection, weed through older copyrights, coordinate our three annual book fairs, work daily with Renaissance Place, and maintain the Follett program. As you know we continue to have caring and knowledgeable library assistants who help make our library a fun and enjoyable place to visit.

When I am away from school, I enjoy spending time with my family; Mike (husband, Whitney, and Garrett. I also enjoy running, biking, scrapbooking, reading, and relaxing at our family beach cottage.
