Weekends in Pentecost

The church year is divided into two parts – a festival half that centers around Christmas and Easter, and a non-festival half that begins after Pentecost.  We are in that second half of the church year where our focus is on the growth of the individual believer and the growth of the church.  So we focus on the life giving words and works of our Lord Jesus.  The Pentecost season runs from Pentecost (June 4) up to the beginning of the new church year in Advent (December 3).

Sermon Series

During the weekends each summer we focus on exploring a book of the Bible.  This summer we will begin with Luke’s account of Acts.  As we look at the beginnings of the Church and the acts of the apostles, we will also see the significant empowering that came by the Holy Spirit.  Starting on the weekend of August 27, we will begin our Fall sermon series as we look at the Book of Revelation, chapters 2-3, in the series “The Story of Seven Churches”.  This 5-week series will run until September 24.

Wednesday Night “Illuminate”.  Starting October 4, “Illuminate” will begin – it is an opportunity in the middle of the week for fellowship, worship, and study.  Starting with a meal at 5:30 p.m. (dinner will be offered until 6:45), then 6:15-6:45 Praise and Worship, followed by opportunities for children through adults.  Check out the web pages for more information.

About Belonging to a Church Family                                                                     We were called to belong, not just to believe.   We were created for community, fashioned for fellowship, and formed for a family.   And none of us can fulfill God's purposes by ourselves.  The Bible says we were put together, joined together, built together, members together, heirs together, fitted together, and held together.  We are not on our own anymore.

God designed His Church specifically to help us fulfill the 5 purposes that He has for our lives.  He created the Church to meet your 5 deepest needs - a purpose to live for, people to live with, principles to live by, a profession to live out, and power to live on.  There is nothing on earth like the church!

Sermons on Tape and Cassette

The Board of Outreach has both CDs and cassettes available each weekend after the Sunday service of that weekend's message.  Pick up a copy to share with a friend, family member, neighbor or work associate.  You can also hear the weekend messages on Dial-A-Sermon (275-GROW) with digital quality, computer technology.

And as always, bring a friend with you to worship!
