Output Device. Video display screens that can be either monochromatic (one color) or color.

Mouse

An input device. A pointing device that serves as a faster more effective alternative to the keyboard in communicating instructions.

Keyboard

Common input device for entering numeric and alphabetic data into the computer.

CPU

(Central Processing Unit) The brain of the computer. A chip containing millions of switches and pathways that help your computer make important decisions.

Speakers

Output device to hear what you are working on.

Input Device

Enable you to enter data and commands into the computer.

Output Device

Enable the computer to give you the results of the processed data.

Hardware

Tangible, physical computer equipment. Examples include keyboard, processor, monitor, printer.

Software

Also called application or a program, it is a set of instructions that tells the computer what to do. The 2 types of software are system software (windows 9x, xp, me) and application software (kidpix, word, excel)

Icon

Graphic images or symbol that represent applications (programs), files, disk drives, documents, embedded objects, or linked objects.
