Rubric for Evaluation of Assignments 

(When Used as Study Guides)

Assignments that require you to use resources such as your classroom notes from teacher lectures, your textbook, or other resources like a glossary and a dictionary to complete a study guide will be evaluated using this rubric or one like it:

Student uses neat handwriting and page organization

Assignment looks rushed and sloppy.

Assignment looks neat in some places and messy in others. Hard to follow page organization.

Assignment is neat and well-organized, only a few areas to be improved.

Assignment is very well organized and neat, worthy of publication or whole class instruction and study.

Student's answers make sense, include a main idea & supporting details, are logical

Answers are incomplete or hard to follow.

Some answers make sense, others are confusing or illogical.

Answers make sense and follow a logical pattern, some improvement possible but not required to use as study guide.

Answers are well-done and easy to follow so they could be used for class-wide study.

Student gives complete answers, rephrases the question and uses complete thoughts

Evaluation and Grades

30-32 = A

27-29 = B

24-26 = C

21-23 = D

0-20 = F

 

Things to check when you're finished with your assignments:

  • Did I use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization?
  • Is my handwriting neat and page organization easy to follow?
  • Do my answers make sense? Is there a main idea with details to support it?
  • Are my answers complete, including the question (re-phrased) in the answer?
  • Have I used my resources (the textbook, my notes, dictionary or glossary) to answer the questions?
